Do like your beer ice-cold( in mug ) or with ice in a mug?!

Question: You should never put ice in beer - it's only going to water it down - most US beers are already watered down as it is.

Pilsners, Lite beers should be served in a slightly chilled (not frosted) mug. Fully frosted mugs are coated with ice inside and out and end up watering it down again.

Dark Lagers, Marzens, Stouts, Porters, Ales etc. should be served in a room temperature mug or pint glass. The temperature of the glass should not effect the nature of the beer. Hold the beer at the appropriate temp. If it gets to warm before you drink it - then you're drinking to slow. :-)

Make sure what the appropriate serving temp is on your beer. While the American Light lagers and Pilsners are normally served at just above freezing, Stouts, Porters, Bochs, and other darker beers should be served at "cellar temp" (somewhere between 50-60 F) - best way to achieve that seeing how few of us an extra cooler or beer and wine cuvee ... is to take it out of the fridge - open - and let sit 4-5 minutes before poring.
