When you drink...?!

Question:

When you drink...?

does alcohol and then drink water does the water float in your stomach and make you drunker or does it soak up the alcohol and sober you up? I was just wondering.

Answers:
No. Nothing sobers you up but TIME! Bread and food and coffee, NOTHING!

By eating food it will slow down the process of metabolizing the alcohol. This is because when food enters your stomach the pyloric valve closes so your active stomach acids don't go down your intestines. But when your food is ready to be digested all the alcohol you drank while eating will then rush down your system.

Now water can actually dilute it and give you the feeling of being full before you are so you won't drink as much alcohol and won't get as drunk as fast. Other than that, it has no effect.

Your liver can only process 2 oz of (pure)alcohol an hour. That is usually one shot, or 2 spirits or 2 beers. Don't believe the old wives tales of bread and crackers or coffee and cold showers. Nothing but time will sober you.

Alcohol is bad

when I hang out

water helps sober you up,

umm i think that is a ? you will have to try out your self but the water jsut flushes the beer out of your sectum

Drinking water will slow down the drunken process. It dilutes the alcohol & will help prevent dehydration

I've never heard of this but I would imagine neither. Water can't soak up alcohol (but breads and other foods can), and water can't make you more drunk because it has no alcohol content.

Maybe you should stop trying to figure out how to get more drunk and start going to rehab u freakin alchy.

its asorb faster than the alcohol

water does not matter.
it takes 1 hour per drink, beer, shot or glass of wine.
water, coffe or food. nothing will speed it up.

The general theory behind your question is this - Water when added to alcohol in the body will dilute the alcohol extending the length of time it takes your body to filter out the alcohol meaning that you will be drunk longer. I dont know that this has ever been proven. I do know that the best way to cure hang overs is sugar water and a B-Vitamin. The sugar water will help with dehydration and low blood sugar, the B-Vitmain will help restore your thymin levels.

well if u drink rum and mix with water ya dont get a hangover

Drinking water between drinks, Just wastes room for more alcoholic drinks.

If the goal is to get drunk then don't eat or drink anything other than booze.
