What is so special about Alcoholic beverages? Why do you drink them?!
I just want 2 good reasons why you drink them. Well, one is also enough if it's a good one. And more is always welcome.
They taste bitter . Dont tell me there is nothing in the world that tastes better. They make you get you drunk and can cause unwanted reactions from you. You get a hangover the day after. And you waste tousands of dollars into them.
And it is proven that Alcohol itself has no benefit. Red wine does, but guess what? If you drink red grape juice, it has the same benefits. Or even better, pomegranate, which has much more antioxydants.
Now please, give me a good reason why you get drunk?

A chance to extoll the virtues of drink!
I drink for two reasons:
1) Fermented and distilled beverages have unique and interesting flavors that cannot be achieved in other drinks. I know some people do not like the flavors (I don't like all of them) but you cannot get anything that tastes like gin or bourbon that has not been fermented and distilled. Good spirits, beer and wine also have a complexity that cannot be matched which lends them well to mixing to make interesting cocktails, and other mixed drinks.
2) To relax. Alcohol causes a relaxing feeling, loosens one up a little and acts as a social lubricant. While one does not have to drink to have a good time, sometimes a drink or two can add to the pleasure of spending time with friends.

Nothing different here. The fact that ethanol is one component of a great cabernet or a delicious oatmeal porter is incidental.
Why do you assume everyone who drinks alcohol gets drunk?
If you say all alcoholic beverages taste "bitter" then I KNOW for fact you haven't tasted many, and are talking about things you know nothing about. My question then is why are you doing that? What's your motivation?
I drink to relax. I like to drink to get drunk sometimes. I make my cocktails taste damn good!!!!!
people get drunk to alter the reality of there shi*** lives. the same reason people to any drugs.

I don't drink but I think it is a whole thing about being mature. Some people think it is adult like if you drink alcoholic drinks. I know thats weird but thats how some people think.

I enjoy drinking a quality drink, like really good beer (like Brooklyn Lager), a really good scotch (glenrothes), or a really good mixed drink (The Connecticut Bullfrog).
Some alcoholic beverages ARE actually very good. Craft beers, fine wines, congacs, well crafted scotches, etc can be very stimulating to the senses.
What is the benefit of butter? What about coffee? They're just enjoyable.

I drink because it relaxes me, and makes me feel alive.
I like to drink after a hard days work there is nothing better that popin a top or twisting a cap to a cold beer. Its a feeling of "Now i can relax" and im sorry i just cant do that with apple juice or hot milk. Im not 5 n e more.
I drink because I have experimented with a lot of liquors since I started drinking and I have found a handful of drinks that taste great. I also have found out which drinks that most girls like. Once you get the girls drinking, you'd be amazed how fast they will drop the panties for you. Good times!!!
