Answers: I am not sure if it is OK, but there is AL-anon for people that live with alcoholics. I guess you could find out from the leader.

Not necessarily. There are some groups that allow non alcoholics to attend. Just check for the ones in your area, get a book of meetings and it will tell you whether non alcoholics can attend or not.

There are Open AA meetings and Closed AA meetings.
Open means Open to anyone who wishes to respectfully attend. Closed means Alcholics Only Please.
All meetings listed in AA meeting books are listed with an O or a C before it.

As a daughter of an Alcoholic I went to these meeting as a support for my dad. .eventually I was offered by a counsellor to meet with a group called families dealing with alcoholics..
Anyone is welcome to go, it could be helpful if you feel that you have a drinking problem and are not necessarily a full blown alcoholic. But if you have no issues with drinking it would not be helpful to attend.
If you are considered with drinking or other issues, see a doctor or a counselor who can help you out.
no AA is there to help you stop being and alcoholic and to help you from becoming and to help you if you have a friend or family member that is a alcoholic. check out AA.org that is their website and it will have a lot of info for you to help you understand them and you can also use it to find a local meeting
I would say if you think your an alcoholic and want to go to a meeting to find out i would say don't. I've been n (even though i am a functioning alcoholic) People in AA seem to believe that everyone who drinks more than 2 drinks a day is an alcoholic and thats not very helpful.
If you're not an alcoholic, I'd say not to go. If you want to help someone you know who is, there's Al-Anon for supporters. But AA really respects the privacy and anonymity of the members. Personally, I wouldn't intrude on that privacy if you are not an alcoholic.
Not at all. Judges, probation officers, and parole authorities typically order people of all types into AA, for a multitude of offenses: DUI, Sex Offenders, dopers, even a cannibalistic murderer from Colorado awhile back. A nudge from the judge, and you're in.
