How quickly can you become intolerant to alcohol??!

Question: I moved back in with my mum a couple of months ago, I used to go out drinking alot beforehand, probably twice a week binge drinking, I mean really quite alot (i know, I know!) but dont know many people round here so have stayed in alot. I had 2 glasses of wine midweek and felt so drunk I couldnt see straight then tonight I felt really stressed and had a gin and tonic and I feel really sick and my head's spinning! is this normal after such a short time of cutting down on drinking? I'm not small and skinny, I didnt think it would affect me this much!

How long have you been not drinking? It just depends on you and your body and ALOT about your genetics. There is not really a way to tell if you have become intolerant but since you drank so much before your body DID build up a tolerance and the longer you go without drinking the less tolerant your body will be.
Also with your drinking so much, I dont know how old you are. Your intolerane to alcohol could show a sign of something wrong with your liver, which is the filter system of your body and the reason why you get drunk is because your liver cant keep up. YOu might want to go to the doctors and get your liver checked if you have been drinkin like a fish for awhilel. Better safe than sorry but sounds normal

You may have damaged your liver to the point of it not being able to properly filter the booze out anymore. It's most likely grey and deformed looking. If I were you I'd pour a drink......quick.

Very quickly, alcohol is in fact a poison, not only does it damage the liver, but it kills brain cells as well.

You build tolerance over time. You can loose that quickly if you have absolutely no alcohol. So yea its normal

i think you have a liver prob but you should test yourself and go drinkin some night soon wit your friends and see then how many drinks it takes to feel that tipsy feelin. if it takes a few then its not liver but more your position in life. good luck.
