Beer prices in 1977?!

Question:

Beer prices in 1977?

Answers:
That was when I first started drinking real ale so I remember it well. In Stevenage a pint of bitter was 34p but I remember that later (probably 1978) there was great shock when a pint of Abbott Ale jumped to 39p!

It was probably a bit cheaper further north.

about 36p a pint for bitter .

I used to go in a private club where it was 25pence a pint...but then again petrol was only about 50p a gallon...those were the days, except for the fashions.....
