What's the best alcoholic drink for someone watching their weight?!

Question:

What's the best alcoholic drink for someone watching their weight?

Answers:
The least calory content will be in any distilled spirit on it's own or with water. Definitely not beer or coktails as these are high in carbohydrates, wine still contains sugars from the original siurce.

Source(s):
Medical training, psychiatrist by profession and an interest in alcohol consumption, boyh academically and otherwise!

White wine or Sake. You can pour a shot of sake in a glass of cold or warm green tea and you will have a cocktail served at many spas.

Vodka & tonic or Gin & tonic. Avoid fruit juice drinks and cream drinks. All wine is high in calories too!

Unfortunately, none, as it is calories without nutrients. BUT, if you feel you have to indulge, one alcohol unit of choice could be fitted in. By one unit, I mean a glass of wine, an ounce of distilled liquor or one cup of beer.

no alcohol at all

the body burns alcohol first and doesn't convert much to fat. But the food you have with the alcohol gets converted to fat because it isn't being used right away (because your body is burning the alcohol). Alcohol is also empty calories because it has little nutritional value. And it lowers blood sugar so it makes you hungry. So really one of the best things you can do to lose weight is to stop drinking for awhile.

If you have to, your best bet is probably a wine cooler. Use a dry wine to avoid the sugar calories and a diet 7up or Sprite. This would do the least harm.

Everclear you get the most bang for your buck

If you would normally mix with coke, try with diet coke. I mix bourbon (Crown Royal or Knob Creek my fave brands) with diet coke, and actually like it better, it's not so sweet. My boyfriend even agrees, and he never drinks diet soda!

If you go to menshealth.com they usually have recipes for alcoholic drinks or a list of drinks that have fewer calories and things like that. I would think hard liquor would have less calories than a beer or wine, and it gets you pretty drunk in less amount of time. The drawbacks being they taste like *** and do more damage to your liver.

vodca and diet mt. dew, its good too.

Straight up.... slam a shot tequila.....might as well get more bang per calorie............:)

Gin or vodka and diet coke
Tom Collins (sub sugar w/splenda)
Fifty-Fifty Cocktail (1/2 gin, 1/2 dry vermouth)
Rocky Mountain Bear (rum, whiskey, southern comfort-equal amts)
Vodka 7---2 oz Vodka, 1 TBS lime juice, diet 7up

Alcohol can (is) be pretty high in calories, but you can cut down on the number you take in while drinking by staying away from the juice laden drinks and the sweet alcohols (like the coconut rum and schnaaps).

Go to DRINKSTREET.com and hit the random recipe button and look for recipes that meet that criteria.

martini, but not a lot of them

you can have an occasional Heineken beer

Bacardi and diet coke

vodka and soda water

Alcohol slows down your metabolism, so all alcoholic drinks will affect your ability to gain weight in the same way.

whichever one helps u get drunk enough to get layed and sweat the calories out!!!!

av diet drinks as your mixer
use vodka, lime and soda water is nice
red wine (i tend to drink it slow)
a wine spritser with soda
