Rye rusks are used for making Kvas and are dry toasted rye bread slices. A rusk is a rectangular, hard, dry biscuit or twice-baked bread. In Greece, on the Island of Crete, a special kind of hard rusk is made out of corn, rye, barley and wheat. Rye rusks are obtainable from speciality Greek food shops.
