Question: I want to get my mates something cheap and unusual. I was thinking a Lush bath bomb and a home made keyring. Any other suggestions?

you sound like a creative friend...so prehaps paint and decorate some cheap wooden frames and put a photo inside of you both..or..make them jewellry/friendship bracelets...or...buy some cheap wax candles and some wire and pretty beads and decorate them festively! ..or...write a poem and frame it for them. hope these are helpful...have fun...kerry xxxx

why dont you do a photo album with pics of you together - just as a frendship thing / think that woule be nice

beer beer and more beer , did i mention beer lol

$5 dollar gift certificates to mcdonalds

Try decorating bottles of cheap liquor.

How about a jar of Vegemite with a bow.

Some nice scented candles. If you have an Ikea near you they have nice ginger biscuits in a pretty Christmas tin for £1.95.I bought some for friends. And I also got some small teddy bears for £1.50, they are gifts for my friends dogs. The eyes are sewn on, so are safe to give. Also, they have really pretty pot pourri at Ikea, and very unusual Christmas decorations. All at good prices. You could customise some gloves for your friends. You can go along to any market or pound shop and find them. Then, get some pom-poms (the tiny craft ones) and sew them on.Look out for craft stalls at markets for the sewing stuff, see if they have little Christmas bells you could sew on too.

Buy some cheap picture frames from the local £1 store and customise them with decoupage, paint and glitter. Have some photo's taken with your friends and put one in each frame.
I think your friends would like these!

I've been doing this since your age (22 now):
Go out and buy some cheap t-shirts. H&M do really cheap and nice fitting ones.
Then go to John Lewis or Paperchase and pick up some fabric pens. Acrylic paint works but the fabric paints are just so easy.
You could go ahead and just start decorating. BUT. word of advice... it looks REALLY amazing if you find what you want on the net. Print it out and lay it under the t-shirt. That you can trace complex designs, customize with their names etc.
Like i said, i've been doing it for years and people actually look forward to my presents. They cost £3 and you will be loved forever. It's now small business.
Hope this helps and have great one. I'm sure they'll love whatever you get them.

a set of cat bells, with a note to put them were they like

Get them a card with nothing in it and tell them its the thought that counts - i did this as a joke to my sister, she loved it - i then pulled out the real present - I usually get my friends a wee teddy and bubble bath or something like that
