What is a good (but cheap) alternative to Malibu Coconut rum?!

Question:

What is a good (but cheap) alternative to Malibu Coconut rum?

We're going camping, and my wife wants to make a lot (actually, a couple hundred) jell-o shots using Malibu rum. What is a suitable but inexpensive alternative so that we don't go broke making these things?

Answers:
Parrot Bay is more expensive than Malibu and I don't think has the coconutty flavor that Malibu is.

My top two suggestion for an inexpensive coconut rum would be :

1. Cruzan Coconut - The others are right. It's a great coconut run at a very good price.

2. Whaler's Killer Coconut - Every bit as good as Malibu for a few bucks less.

Another idea to cut costs is to mix an inexpensive well rum, like Ron Rico for example, and mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with a coconut rum. That way you still have a coconut punch for less of a punch to your wallet.

I'll be honest with you... Malibu is pretty cheap. You could always go Cpt Morgans: parrot bay

Malibu is about as cheap as they come. Parrot Bay is more expensive...

There is another by Cruzan that I know about, but you're going to spend more.

please somebody ,find an alternative to the Malibu brand rum

I have used Cruzan Rum side by side with Malibu and the quality is the same between the two. All of Cruzans' flavors are top notch.

I Malibu was the cheaper coconut rum???

Cruzan i will agree with others is as good if not better than the popular rums out there, coconut jack is also a great coco rum. My referal is Cruzan

bombora, its about au$13

or get some coconut flavoured essence and some cheep white rum or vodka

It's called Cruzan Coconut rum. Not very expensive, you can probably find cheaper, but this a good quality rum. Many different choices too, mango, black cherry, bannana, raspberry. I use them all for mojitos.
