Would you let your 18, 19, or 20 year old drink with you in the upcoming Holidays?!

Question: This thanksgiving, Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate, respectivly) if you are enjoying wine (or your alcholic drink of choice) with friends and/or family. would you let your 18, 19, or 20 year old drink with you in your home?

if yes, please say if you would put a limit on it and how much, any restrictions on what he/she CAN drink and anything thing else that you would say to your kid

if no, please explain

THANK YOU!

my parents have let me drink with them at special occasions (holidays ect.) since i was 13. after age 16 i could drink with dinner if i wasn't going out afterwards. i think that was great because it takes away the appeal of alcohol as being an illegal thing which is why so many teens binge drink at early ages. By 18-20, they have probably had a few drinks at parties so im sure they will be able to manage their own drinking, so unless they are obviously becoming drunk, id leave them alone and let them drink at their own pace.

Yes I would but no more than two drinks.

my kids aren't drinking until they are old enough to go to the store and get it for me.

Yes. Here in Australia the legal drinking age is 18. My 2 adult sons have had a few drinks with us on special occasions since they turned 18. They have always been sensible and don't drink to get drunk, just have a good time.

I DONT HAVE KIDS YET. AND IM ALMSOT 16 I BEEN DRINKING FOR LIKE 5 YEARS BUT I DONT DRINK EVERYDAY. I WOULD LET EM DRINK IF THEY 18+

I think it's okay to let an older kid like that drink with you. It's just with you, so it's not like they're going to be irresponsible. It'll help them fit in with the adults, and a lot of them already drink at that age anyway, so it's no different, just more responsible drinking on their part. Now I wouldn't go giving them hard liquor like whiskey or tequila or anything, but wine, champagne, wine coolers, or malt beverages (mike's hard lemonade, smirnoff, bacardi), I think those are all fine. Even jello shots, my friends mom used to give us those. Just watch them to make sure they're not getting too wasted and I think you'll be okay.

I personally feel it is alright to let my minor child(18,19,20 year old) drink in my home. One stipulation is that they are not allowed to leave the house for any reason. Not even to go outside for fresh air! Unfortunately the law does not see it that way. I would not allow someone elses child to drink at my home. I feel one to three drinks is plenty for someone of that age. No hard stuff. Just beer or wine/wine coolers.

My family drinks wine with holiday meals, so if you're talking about a small glass with a toast then I don't think it's a big deal.
I think I was about 10 when I was allowed a wine glass with a small amount of wine to drink with the toast. I know many Americans have a problem with this, but even though we've been here for 3 generations we still hold onto some of our traditions.

dosent seem to be that big of a deal, after all, they are an adult just not 21 so let them drink

Yes,
