Question:

Does anyone know of a good white wine that goes with most meals?

Not too sweet. Price range up tp $40 or lower. If you know of any good cheaper please let me know. I know NOTHING about wines and my new man is a big wine drinker. If possible can you also tell me which wine goes with what type of food etc. Thanks much!

Answers:
Frog's Leap Sauvignon Blanc is a California white that can hold up to even a steak. It's very dry and a personal favorite of mine. A bottle should go for a few dollars more or less than $20.00, although I have seen it for as much as $30.00 in some markets.

If you can find it, give it a shot.

As far as what wine goes with most food, an easy rule of thumb is that red wines go with red meat. White goes with fish and poultry. That's generally not even considered important any more, though. As you begin to drink wines you'll figure out what tastes compliment what foods in your own opinion and drink what you like.

try a pino gregio santa margarita

Moscato goes with anything. MMmmmmm

Any rosé wine should be safe....

Buy what you like. Just because it is pricey doesn't mean you will like it. A white zin. or a Riesling should be good. I like just about anything made by Beringer wineries. They run less than $15.00 for just about everything they make.

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is a great white wine...refreshing. It's won many awards and is highly rated. It cost less than $15.
