What do you like to drink with christmas dinner?!

Question: I would start with Champagne, as an aperitif. Better still, Kir Royale - that's champagne with a touch of Creme de Cassis added. This gets the appetite going and is very quick to be absorbed into the blood stream and therefore feel merry. Then, I would serve a good quality wine - red or white - depending on the food it complements. You shouldn't skimp on price here - after all it's only once per year. Offer still water to negate the dehydration effects of the alcohol. Finish by offering a desert white wine with the sweet (eg Muscat or Sauternes) - never take the main wine on to the desert. You may finish off with a brandy or licquer to aid digestion.
