Why does red wine make me soo sleepy!?!


Question: seriously, but i shouldn't fall asleep. am i tired? is there something physically wrong with me? is it all in the red wine?

Well any Alcoholic beverage is a depressant. Therefore, it will slow down your bodily responses like heartrate, breathing, etc.. It is not a stimulant like caffeine. Tiredness is often associated with drinking wine or beer.

Scientists in Italy say they have discovered that the grapes used to make some of the most popular red wines contain high levels of the sleep hormone melatonin. Melatonin is naturally secreted by the pineal gland in the brain, especially at night. It tells the body when it is time to sleep.

Any wine will make you sleepy- drowsy.
Nothing is wrong with you physically.
Do not consume more (over limit) & take if necessary.
Avoid if possible as all wines are not good for certain body.
