Is it legal to have a moonshine still?!

Question:

Is it legal to have a moonshine still?

Answers:
Yes, and it is legal to make moonshine as well. As long as you don't sell it you'll be fine. When you start making money off of it, that's when you run into trouble. Moonshine is very dangerous stuff. If you don't know what you are doing you could burn your home down, or even blind.

No only if you try to sell it.
But check the local laws
and
I was never here

what is a moonshine!?!?!?! and it doesnt sound legal....

ONLY IF YOU GET CAUGHT!

Suurrreeeeeeeee it is (LOL) as long as you live in West virginia and yure marrried to yure sister !!!

GITTER DONE!!!

theoretically it is Ok. those that do it run in to trouble because there is a tax to be paid on liquor and making liquor without paying the tax is a crime. That is why the enforcement mechanism was by the revenuers. Of course, there are still some dry counties in the U.S. in which making liquor would be illegal regardless of federal tax law.

not without a liscense. sorry to kill your buzz

Selling liquer without paying the tax is a crime not making for your own consumption. It's legal to do in most states but you have to know what you're doing or you could poison yourself.

You can own one. You just can't distill alcohol with it. Funny, eh?

I don't see why not. All it is, is a collection of containers, piping and a fire. Separately each one of those is legal, put together in a particular manner should be legal also.
Now using that contraption to make moonshine may be illegal.

I don't know if it's illegal to have one, but it would be ilegal to sell it.
