Answers: It's allready ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smoking is the most STUPID thing EEEEEVVVVVEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! DON"T SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

smoking is banned in pubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uk says no, if non smokers dont like smoke then they should stay home.

It is banned in pubs here in Ireland, all public buildings in fact. As a smoker I welcomed it. Never illegal though.

Its already banned. But they should of made it up to individual landlords.

Are you asking whether it should have been, because it obviously already is.

If you are asking whether it should have been....yes it should, because it gives people cancer.

smokin should be allowed in all areas but designated areas so to meet the needs of smokers n non smokers. equal rights!!!!!!lol

Yes I think it is good that it is banned in pubs. It's unfair for people who don't smoke that have to breathe in smoke fumes from other people. I wouldn't mind if it were illegal as I am a non smoker, but I think there would be a lot of arguements if it were !

It has been banned in pubs -
England from July 1st 2007
Wales came into force on 2nd April 2007
Scotland from March 26, 2006.

It should be banned in public places where it effects other people. You shouldn't have to breathe it in if I want to smoke or vice versa, ya know?

It shouldn't be made illegal though. Just so ridiculously expensive that very few people could ever afford a pack. Eventually, people would get the drift.

The reasoning for this is that when people inhale smoke, they get sicker (than they would normally be, that is). This taxes out health insurance and raises rates of health care for everyone. I shouldn't have to pay for another man's bad habbits. So taxing the heck out of cigarettes and passing that money to healthcare might mitigate the cost.

I think on every high street there should be smoking and non-smoking pubs. I've got a local where the landlord himself smokes and even HE has to go outside-its ridiculous. What happened to freedom????
Restaurants- yeah fair enough, but at least provide a covered area to have an 'after dinner ***!!!!'

pubs only.
if you ban it all together, that's attracts mafia and street crime. also, it will encourage smuggling and dirting up the country. imo anyone who wants to ban it altogether does not know about mafias and smuggling.

DRINKING AND SMOKING GO HAND-IN-HAND.
NON SMOKERS STAY HOME!!!

if you go to a pub you know people are going to be smoking, why ban it or make it illegal? both are bad for your health why ban one without the other.

no pubs have always been a place 2 chill and u well shud b able 2 still smoke in them load of crap the ban

This is totally ASSININE !!!! - In a BAR !!???? - How rediculous is this? - Every single person I know, adamently
swears that they will NOT patronize any drinking establishment with any such communistic 'ban' ! ! ! !

Its the alcohol that should be banned
liscenced to sell inTOXICating liquor
if people want to die of COPD with smoking let them

if you want a smoke free pub then open a smoke free pub. the goverment has no business telling us we can't do something that's legal in public. Let the market decide. If people want smoke free pubs they will frequent them. If people want to smoke they will frequent those clubs. But we have a Nanny-State now. That's what you get when you elect a certain political party into power.

indian political authrities have mooted extensive ban. The viiew says smoking should be banned at home also.
there is rider that one can smoke with the permission of wife. But ignores a situation when wife is smoker but not the husband.

Where have you been? It is banned and it is illegal - it is also a pain in neck for people like me who smoke for England. Without the duty I pay on my ciggies the country would be broke.

it is illegal already.....in any public place....about time too.
