simple easy mac and cheese recipe?!
Macaroni and Cheese
1 (8 ounce) package macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
fresh ground black pepper, to taste
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded good quality
1/2 cup breadcrumbs, buttered
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cook and drain macaroni according to directions, drain and set aside.
Melt butter in a large saucepan, add flour mixed with salt and pepper, whisk until well-blended.
Pour milk and cream in gradually, stir consistently.
Reduce heat and stir constantly, for 10 minutes.
Add shredded cheddar and simmer and additional 5 minutes, or until cheese melts. Turn off burner.
Add macaroni to saucepan and turn to coat in the cheese sauce. Transfer macaroni/cheese mixture to greased baking dish.
Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

* 1/4 cup butter
* 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1. Melt butter or margarine in a saucepan pan over medium heat. Add onions, and saute. Stir in flour and salt.
2. Add milk and macaroni to saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally
3. Add cheese, and stir until cheese melts. Serve.
Stove Top Mac and Cheese
1/2 pound elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
6 ounces evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
10 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente and drain. Return to the pot and melt in the butter. Toss to coat.
Whisk together the eggs, milk, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and mustard. Stir into the pasta and add the cheese. Over low heat continue to stir for 3 minutes or until creamy.
Add butter and you have the right ingredients.
My Bechamel Sauce: (boil 1 quart of milk with herbs and onion let steep for 30 min than strain out herbs and onions.) optional. melt butter and mix with flour to thicken add milk than enough cheese to your liking. cook till thick then toss with cooked macaroni. usually i make my sauce a little thinner than i like then i bake the cooked mac with cheese sauce and top with parm and bread crumbs.
It won't taste that great, but sure.
