How do you prevent spaghetti sauce from splattering all over the inside of the microwave?!
a few paper towels over it will help
Take a sheet (or a couple sheets) of a thick/heavy paper towel and moisten it completely in the kitchen sick, then lay it over the microwave safe container you're reheating in. This will not only prevent a mess, but it will add moisture to the cooking process so your food doesn't dry out, and is more likely to taste fresh again. You can do this with anything you're reheating. I do it even if Im microwaving a frozen soft pretzel for my daughter, and it makes it really soft and chewy rather than dry and tough. Try it a couple of times on a couple of things...you'll like it!
Hope this helps!!
PS: Here's a great trick. After you do the dishes, rinse your sponge really well with tap water until no more soap or bubbles are still in it. Squeeze most (but not all) of the moisture out of the sponge and then place it in the center of your microwave. Heat it on high for 1 - 2 mins. This will do two things - first it will sterilize your sponge (sponges are FILTHY), removing germs, bacteria and mold that is about to form and it dries the sponge as well. What you end up with is a sponge that you can safely use for an extended period of time and it will not become riddled with bacteria and/or smelly. Its a real money saver (you're not replacing sponges all the time) and its preventing germs from reaching your family via your dishes. What it also does is moisten and loosen any food, splatter marks or dried up, glued on messes you have inside the micro. As the sponge "cooks" it will create steam which will loosen everything that's been left behind (on the walls and the top). Take a paper towel and wipe up any food or spatter, it will wipe right up, no problem. Even stuff that's been baked on for days will come up right away with this method. Every time I do dishes I steam my sponge - its a great habit to get in to.
Hope this helps!!
cover it... duh... take a napkin and unfold it so that it is big enough to cover your meal and tuck it under the plate or bowl to prevent it from flying off from the air currents in the microwave.
Obviously cover it, but not an air-tight lid.
You could use a sheet of plastic wrap.
But lay it loosely over, not sealed down.
I actually use a pot on the stove to heat it up. Then I can add a bit of other spices, some garlic...makes me feel all pretty and junk.
Cover it with a paper plate. Works for me.
cover it with a paper towel or napkin.
that is what i do.
You should put a paper towel over the bowl
