Could I use a microwave instead of an oven for this?!
1 cup (125g) wholemeal flour
1 cup (125g) plain flour
1/3 cup wheatgerm
2/3 cup (155g) white sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups light cream
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 cup fresh blueberries
1.Preheat oven to 200C. Butter the cups of a muffin tray.
2.In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flours, wheatgerm, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk together cream and eggs. Stir wet ingredients into dry, mixing just to combine. Fold in berries. Scoop batter into muffin tray cups. If there are any empty cups, fill those halfway with water.
3.Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until done.
In the recipe, a oven is required to bake the muffin, but our house do not have a oven, only a microwave. Okay, so this does sound stupid, because it's my first time cooking anything at all, but I was wondering if I could use my microwave instead of buying an oven just to bake the muffins? I need to practice at home, since I don't want to fail and all, but we just don't have an oven. =.= Help me please! I don't want the kitchen to explode or anything.
You can't bake muffins in a microwave, especially if you have metal muffin tins. NEVER put metal in a microwave.
It may be possible to bake them in a toaster oven, which is considerably cheaper than a normal oven. I have baked and toasted many things in my toaster oven.
Perhaps you could bake at a friend's house.
Though some things can be cooked in a microwave instead of an oven, this recipe is not. Most things like muffins, cakes, cookies, bread and other types of baking generally need a real oven. Quick and Easy. No. If the recipe does not say ok or give you recipe changes for a microwave, Then no. HOWEVER there are plenty of recipes for Microwaves on the food network shows on line.

First off you can't MW a metal muffin pan. (it probably will not fit)
Follow your recipe and this as a guide.
I think you should go to someone else's house to practice baking. Microwaves are not good for making muffins. If you can't borrow an oven then just make something that doesn't require baking.

Baking is best done in an oven, as baked goods don't brown in the microwave. But you can find many recipes for microwaving muffins online (Google: 'recipe microwave muffins').
This recipe was pulled off Cooks.com and maybe you can use it as a guide for your recipe. The only think that might explode a little is the blueberries (because of the skins):
Blueberry Muffins (Microwave)
1 3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 c. blueberries
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Mix dry ingredients. Beat eggs, oil and milk with a whisk and fold the mixture into the dry ingredients. Add blueberries, vanilla and lemon peel and mix just enough to wet the dry ingredients. Set cupcake papers in a microwave muffin holder (not metal!), fill papers half full (or a little more); sprinkle with topping. Cook 5-6 muffins at a time for 2 1/2 minutes on full power. Yield 10-12 muffins. The topping gives a nice look to the muffins which don't really brown in the microwave oven.
Here's a microwave muffin recipe that you will be able to modify to suit your needs. When you read the recipe, scroll down for the Microwave version of it; you would only need to omit the cheese and sage, and an addition 2 tablespoons of sugar, plus the berries you are going to use and you have your double berry microwave muffin recipe.
