What would your ideal dinner party be like?!
and which 4 celebrities would you invite? Dead or alive xxx
my mom throws good dinner party's, so i would probably model it after hers
starter- baked brie and crackers, and cheese and crackers
main- roast beef, potato's, and veggies
4- barack obama, adam lambert, pink, and micheal jackson
First, I would invite two couples that my husband and I really get along with. I mean no matter how good the food is, if the company sucks the party sucks.
the first thing would be a champagne toast. One bottle, that's it... I would already have several bottles of good wine opened like Kesler Chardonnay, Opus One, etc. My appetizers would be simple... a very nice cheese platter with grapes and nuts, including a variety of bold flavorful cheeses that pair well with the wine, as well as a spreadable cheese with crackers.
The main course would be braised lamb shanks in red wine gravy, herb and goat cheese mashed potatoes, and sauteed asparagus. The lamb shanks would have been cooking all day and falling off the bone, and the gravy would be dark and full of intense flavor.
After dinner, we would drink more wine and finish with a simple dessert. Cheese cake with three different warm homemade sauces... raspberry, blue berry and chocolate.
I would not invite any celebs. I don't know those people and I'd rather hang out with my actual friends. It would be 4 couples, nonstop conversation and laughing, story-telling with a great meal accompanied by some great wines or beers, depending on the menu and season. All food would be from scratch made by me, but served and cleaned up by someone else.
