why does eating ice cream ive you brain freeze?!
It is caused by having something cold touch the roof of the mouth, and is believed to result from a nerve response causing rapid constriction and swelling of blood vessels or a "referring" of pain from the roof of the mouth to the head. The rate of intake for cold foods has been studied as a contributing factor.
There is a blood vessel or a vein thing thats in on the roof of your mouth and when it gets cold it leads up to your brain and your brain "freezes". You can press your thumb onto the roof of your mouth and usually your brain freeze goes away.
A. It's really cold

Because your brain actually freezes, but then as blood pumps in it melts back.
