Where does the hot dog originate from?!

Question: Where does the hot dog originate from?
on a side note...are most hotdogs really made up of scrapings off the floor??

thanks for your time

Answers:

It's a style of sausage that originated in Vienna, Austria.

No food product literally hits the floor and still makes it into production, but the meat used is often trim from other cuts of meat. You may call it scraps but it is still wholesome meat from cows, pigs, chickens or turkeys.

The word frankfurter comes from Frankfurt, Germany, where pork sausages served in a bun similar to hot dogs originated

Frankfurt, Germany. They were originally called frankfurters..

i think some where in Europe
