Place 1 cup milk (full cream or skimmed) in the top half of a double saucepan or steamer.
A double saucepan will have the bottom half two thirds to three quarters full of boiling water before the milk is placed in it.
Gently warm the milk in the steamer over a low heat for 5 - 10 minutes until it is hot enough to suit you taste.
You can set aside to cool if you want to drink it straight. If you want to you can add chocolate for a hot chocolate drink. You can also add custard powder and 2 eggs well beaten a tablespoon of sugar to make a lovely custard. This sets as a fluffy blamongue (Blanc Mange) when it goes cold in the refrigerator.
