Sit ups are kind of useless to lose weight.
Eat NO WHITE BREAD, NO WHITE PASTA, NO WHITE RICE, NO POTATOES, NO CHIPS, NO NOODLES, NO BAGELS, PIZZA CRUST, NO WHITE FLOUR AT ALL.
No cornflakes ( all HFCS and sugar and corn...)
No crappy sugary cereals- only eat plain porridge or yoghurt for breakfast and fruit.
No canned cream-of soups.
No cookies, cakes, chocolate.
If you want sweet- eat fresh fruit, or yoghurt.
If you want gooey comfort food, eat your favourite soup.
If you want fried food- roast vegetables in the oven with olive oil and salt pepper ( chickpeas, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, cauliflour) and roast til they're crispy and eat them.
If you want stodgy cake- take some dried fruit, and soak it in boiling water, leave half an hour and serve with a chopped banana and sugar free cocoa powder, or yoghurt.
If you want pizza- make wholewheat pita bread, with tomato sauce and cottage cheese on it, add herbs, a few mushrooms and onions, etc, and a little grated cheese, artichoke hearts, then bake for 15 minutes.
Make your own versions of everything and do not eat processed junk food from dry mixes or frozen food.
It will help.
Don't try to push yourself to lose a bunch of weight quickly, you may end up hurting yourself. That said, i suggest trying bellydance. You can order one online, and I think they still have a bellydance show on fit tv.(although the show is harder to follow if u don't know what you're doing) this helped me lose a ton of weight,especially in my stomach. And left me with abs. Doesn't really help with legs/thighs, but doing leg lifts and bicycling are easy ways to slim them down. Hope I helped.

I like the South Beach diet. I lost 7 lbs the first week and the weight seems to disappear in the belly region first. You stay on Phase I for 2 weeks. Give it a try. I was never hungry either.
get on a treadmill, run, jog, situps work if you do them correctly. its hard work. get lots of protein and fruits and cut out the sugars.
