Can Vermouth go bad on the shelf (if previously opened)?!

Question: Can Vermouth go bad on the shelf (if previously opened)!?
We were making drinks the other night and my husband is certain that the Vermouth had gone bad, but my friend said it can't go bad!. I'm sure it's been on the shelf in our kitchen, previously opened, for several years now!. Does it ever truly go bad, or just change flavor or something!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually vermouth does go bad as it is a wine based product!.
It will keep if vacuum sealed and refrigerated!.

This website has videos and a forum that discusses this topic:

Yes it can go bad, most liqueurs can, but if refrigerated it will last much longer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
