What is Pernod liquor and what is a substitute for it?!
I don't think it would be appropriate to take alcohol to school and use it in my food, so how do I change this without affecting the taste?
Pernod is a French anise flavored liquor. Similar to Greek ouzo. It is licorice flavored. There is anise flavoring you can find in the grocery store in the baking section near vanilla flavoring. That would probably work best for a non alcoholic version. When cooking with alcohol is it usually burns off during the cooking process. It's not the same as drinking it. But I think you are wise not to take it to school. Good luck with your project. Patricia
