i brewed about a liter of mead and it smells like alcohol how would i know if it was poisonous?!

Question: I brewed about a liter of mead and it smells like alcohol how would i know if it was poisonous?
this is my first successful brew so i am not entirely sure if i should drink it but it smells fine

Answers:

If it was bad, it would either have had something floating in it or it would smell either musty or rubbery. Infection would have also caused it to gush or foam over. If it has a nice alcohol smell, then you did it right. make sure you always keep everything clean.

I brew over 15-20 gallons of mead a year....

Brewer of mead, wine and beer.

Why would it be poisonous? Did you flavor it with potassium cyanide for that nice almond-y taste? If it smells okay and looks clear, drink up.

Most likely it's safe to drink.

Take a few sips.
