Bulk Pipe Tobacco vs. Packaged?!

Question: Bulk Pipe Tobacco vs. Packaged?
I'm taking up pipe smoking as an alternative to cigarettes. Shopping online for tobacco I found a 12 oz. tin of Captain Black regular costs $50, or $4.16 per oz. On the SAME website I could buy Captain Black reg in "bulk" for $1.78 per oz. 16 oz. for $28.53.
Why such a huge difference? Why is the same tobacco in a can so much more expensive? Is it the can, or is it some weird, esoteric tax law thing?

Answers:

Its just because one is bulk, and the other is in a tin. That is about it. If you are going to smoke a pipe though, try expanding beyond Captain Black. Go to www.tobaccoreviews.com and there is a giant database of pipe tobaccos there and peoples reviews on them.

me, I smoke a pipe.

quit smoking and use an electronic cigarette
