question about out of date eggs?!

Question: Question about out of date eggs?
we all know that eggs don't ruin after the date expires its something to do with the little pocket of air in there and not rotating them?
anyways my question was if i boil the eggs its not gonna have an affect on them?
maybe silly question as they only boil for like 5 mins :P

Answers:

"An egg can float in water when its air cell has enlarged sufficiently to keep it buoyant. This means the egg is old, but it may be perfectly safe to use. Crack the egg into a bowl and examine it for an off-odor or unusual appearance before deciding to use or discard it. A spoiled egg will have an unpleasant odor when you break open the shell, either when raw or cooked." - U.S.D.A.

You can get all the information that you need about eggs at the USDA web site...

put eggs in pan of water if the rise to the to top they are old and should not use, if they stay in middle of pan they are getting old and still good and if lay on bottom still good. yes you can boil tham and they will keep at least a week , can use for egg salad or just peel and egg ( good protein )
I boil mine for 20 mins. but read story about bringing water to boil and when they start to boil turn heat off , cover and let sit for 17 mins. I have not tried that yet but says it works great. sometime will try that.myself.

you put in water BEFORE boiling.
if they float, they are old
