Cheap party snacks?!

Question: Hi everyone, I'm having my study buddies over and I need some ideas for cheap snacks. There will be about 6 or 7 of us and I'd like to keep it around $15 or so.
Thanks! And yes, I do choose a best answer :-)

bag of tortilla chips and a nacho cheese warmed in a crockpot. optional jalapenos on the side. coupla bottles of 2 liter bottles of soda and you have an instant party; its not something you usually get to have at a friends house.

Sounds like a good menu to me! Report It

  • popcorn, add toppings if you like
Valu or cheapest brand of snack or cheese chips
    fast food dollar menu items
    frozen pizza
    party nuts
make your own dip from sour cream and spices (like dill)

Try some taco salad! All you need are tortilla chips (a bag of tostitos), salsa or cheese dip, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and some lettuce. Get a platter to serve the food. Then line a little bit of lettuce like a carpet on the plate. Next for the 2nd layer, place the chips. Add some dip(a few spoon fulls scattered around the plate but none around the edges). Put a scoop of sour cream in the center. Sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on the dip to complete the presentation. If you have a little spare change, buy sliced black olives and scatter them on top of the dip and salad.

I love those junky frozen Jeno's pizza rolls, and they sell them in big party sized bags. Add a bag of flavored chips like Doritos or Pringles and some packaged cookies and I'm happy!

    chex mix
    cheesedoodles
    popcorn
    icecream
    jello
or you could just get a pizza pie

Quesadillas are great and cheap, no matter the varieties! Wraps are good too, Panini's... those are pressed sandwiches! Mini burgers! Bake Pillsbury grand biscuits, and make cold cut sandwiches...they make great buns. You could even buy 2lbs of chicken salad and use the biscuit as the bun, serve some tortilla chips and dip, and some ice tea.....you still under you $15 budget.
