fried chicken, corn on the cob, cole slaw, wine

I think a pasta salad that does not use mayo would be awesome. Also some sandwiches. You can make a killer muffaletta sandwich that can feed an army and to finish it off a fruit salad. You can top your fruit with lemon and honey so you have both tangy and sweet.

Sandwiches are the best for picnics. You can use various kinds of bread- brown or white. You can cut them into four triangular shapes ( without the crusts if you wish) and hold them together with toothpicks. Put them in a nice sealable container. In another container, add slices of tomatoes ( halves) and cucumber ( slices) and add some pit-less olives to it. You could also have slices of a favourite pie or quiche too in another container. Fruit is also nice to take along- wash before taking. Take along some mineral water and favourite drinks. Take along some wet tissues and some napkins - these always come in handy.

Picnics are supposed to be relaxing. Everything should be prepared ahead of time. Fried chicken, sandwiches, any salad, chips, dips, your favorite fresh summer fruit; watermelon, peaches etc.. Then some dessert pie, cake, cupcakes. Take sodas or whatever you prefer to drink, maybe lemon aide.
