OK it really isn't the tea that makes a tea party but the ambiance
see i have a business throwing tea parties for little girls and what i have to say is woman are woman at any age and it is always about the chocolate !!
GET LITTLE CHOCOLATE different shapes and tiny cakes with a platter of finger sandwiches have it in pretty setting like a park or if you have a great back yard do that
also have every dress the part tell them it is a tea party come in your tea attire. It will be a hit an dif you know any musicians (especially at a college they would do it for cheap)
Yeah buy some Earl Grey tea. It is delicious.

spike the tea with some brandy... irish tea anyone... how lovely would that be :-))
Just make sure there is some tea present, otherwise it would be ironic as usual.
BTW, whether or not you see it that way, it IS an idea.

Why yes actually. Why do you not prepare some watercress and cucumber sandwiches, and perhaps some scones?
Sounds great! Tea and biscuits. Maybe some yummy little cakes. Use real china if you have it and some victorian accents. Sweet! :-) Some flowers on the sweeties table. yum yum.
ooo you are certaintly in luck- my most treasured fancy are tea parties! I suppose since I honestly could just ramble on and on about all the necassary factors of a well-thrown tea party, I will jsut grant you with the single most important factor of a successful tea party, the secret is all in the music. Enterain your guests with some pleasureable ear candy, and you shall be deservingly reconized as one of the best tea parties in the neighbor hood. I reccomend koRn's "see you on the other side", system of a down's "toxity", and if your extremely serious about a lovely tea party, you may even want to invest in a bury your dead CD. have a lovely good ol time!
Don't forget the scones.
Uninvite everyone. Make a nice pot of tea. Make yourself a toast and jelly treat. Sit down and watch Oprah.
