The term originates from the Latin word, 'apertitiuvum indicating 'opener. It is served before a dinner to open up the appitite. Some good ones are Ouzo, Sparkling Wine, Congac, Brandy, and Sherry.

It's all that's left if you don't brush your teeth regularly!
