Is there such thing as canned bread?!
When I first read your question I smiled, never would even imagined bread in a can. And I thought I knew everything LOL.
Always avid to learn more I looked it up, and rats there is such a thing. Amazing!
Going to have to watch Sponge bog with the grandson.(again)
Boston brown bread is typically sold in cans. It is a sweet bread made with molasses. It was common among the whaling culture in New England in the 1800's. Since the show SpongeBob uses a lot of New England seafaring imagery, I wouldn't be surprised if they meant Boston brown bread.
You have asked a good question and one which I amazed to find out that you can and its available in Germany. You read about it and order it on the schwartzbrot.com website.
Kindest regards from David
