Question:

How long does scrapple keep fresh in the refrigerator?

Additional Details

I've had this scrapple in the fridge for about a week and a half. Being that scrapple is kind of questionable in the first place, I'm wondering if it's still good. Thanks! :)

Answers:

A homemade scrapple may not have enough salt or other preservatives like a store bought scrapple might to allow such a shelf life. Yes, offal foodstuffs usually have a short shelf life and should be consumed in a few days. If it were a commercial scrapple with lots of salt and/or other preservatives in it, I'd say handle it as you would bacon in the fridge. Anything in the fridge over a week is usually too old for my kitchen.
