Do I HAVE to replace my Brita Maxtra water cartidge every month?!

Question: Do I HAVE to replace my Brita Maxtra water cartidge every month!?
I will probably only fill it up once per day and although I know I need to replace them frequently I wasn't sure if they say to replace them monthly, was a marketing ploy to make you spend more!.

If you have one, what are your thoughts and experiences!?

Thanks,Www@FoodAQ@Com

I change mine every 2 months because I use the water constantly, From what you stated you can probably get away with 4 months!. The life of the cartridge is measured by the amount of water you filter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm going to guess that no!. You don't have to, I would say that 3 months is usually a good time!. The charcoal in the filters doesn't degrade that fast in a month, and it just pretty much comes down to how often you refill the container and how much debris it's filtering out!.
If you see lots of floaties then yeah!.!.!. you might want to do it every month!.
If you don't see much then just wing it!.

If you notice taste differences with before and after changing your filter then that should probably be a clue that you should change it more frequently!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They can last longer than that!. I used to have one before and it seemed to last a few months!. I usually replaced it as soon as I noticed a taste difference!.

I switched to the one you put on the faucet, because it is much more convenient for me!. That one lasts quite a bit longer!. I just put a filter on my ice maker to my fridge too, so I could have filtered cold water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
