Our coffee shop at school as all of their different coffee types labelled on a scale from mild to bold.. What does this mean? Is it the caffeine content or just the taste?

The mild and bold labels on the coffee refer to the flavor, and have nothing to do with the caffeine content.
Mild roast coffee has much less 'coffee-flavor' than a bold roast does.
