Will you drown in a pit of beer?!

Question:

Will you drown in a pit of beer?

Will you not be able to swim in a pool of beer? I seen it in a movie where a guy fell into beer and he drowned because they said you can't swim in beer. Is it true?

Answers:
beer is about the same density as water, so swimming in it would be possible but any beer stored at room pressure(1 atm) would release CO2. CO2 is heavier than air so would blanket the pool surface with that deadly gas. So you would die but from the CO2 unless they had scuba gear or fresh air blowing over the surface.

um, no you would not drown in a pit of beer... but a pit of beer sounds like a damn good time...

No...you can definitely swim in a pit of beer. In fact, in Canada (where I am from ) we have swimming lessons in pools of beer when there is a water shortage.

you can drown in a teaspoon of water

that depends on how fast you can drink........

HAHAHA you saw beerfest! funny movie! lol

but no you cant swim in beer, i think it's the yeast in the beer that will cause you to sink!

I think you would have to get out to go to the bathroom before you would drown in beer So if you could actually get out you are able to move and swim in beer

Yes, I don't know exactlly when this happened, but over in Euroupe a brewery vessel containing aprox. 3,000 gals. of beer broke open and flowed down the street and three people drown.
