Is this bottle of wine worth anything and if so, how or where do you sell vintage wine?!
We found this bottle of Mateus Rose wine in a our Great Grandpa's basement after he passed away, he never drank so we can only assume it was a gift from when he retired!. I tried a google search for it but couldn't really find any information, there's no date on the bottle but someone thought it might have been somewhere between 15-20 years ago!.
Does anyone know if it's worth anything or where we can go to find out!? If it is worth money how do you trade vintage wines!? I don't like the idea of selling it on eBay if it really is worth any money!.
Here are some pictures of the label:

It might be worth nothing!. Many wines go bad if they are stored in a bottle for too long!.

!.!.!.When you next find yourself wondering about that magnum of 1977 cru bourgeois claret you recently found under the stairs, consider these simple maxims:
>>only the tiny minority of wines will tolerate keeping (even less actually improve)
>>only an even tinier minority of wines accrue any value as they age
>>bottles that fit the first two criteria need provenance to interest auction houses and buyers
Unless the wine was chosen following careful research or advice, then it is unlikely to be the sort of wine that would age or increase in value!. By all means seek information on its drinkability and value, but be prepared for disappointment!. (23/7/03)

A rose wouldn't age very well, and I'm afraid this didn't start life with much of a pedigree to begin with!. If it was kept upright the cork is probably dried out and the wine would be done in anyway!.
I'd suggest opening it and have fun toasting to Grandpa's memory!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I hate to break this to you, but it's a rose wine, and not a terribly expensive one!. Generally they are better when they are fresher!. Wine, unlike something like scotch, can actually be over-aged and rendered undrinkable!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Mateus Rose is vin ordinaire!. I probably pass on drinking it now as it is not the type of wine meant for aging!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
