Is it a wine!? Sure!. It fits the definition!.
Is it any good!? Not really!. I've had perhaps one that would make a passable table wine and another that was a late harvest sort-of dessert wine that was at least interesting!. That one I might actually part with money for, but the winery did it as an experiment and saw more cash in the standard fare!. Oh well!.
The only defense is that there are equally awful grape varieties and versions that show up in bottles!. None so frequently, I agree, but I've had some truly horrific Chard, Claret, Muller, Chianti, and enough bland Riesling to float a ship!. I've also yet to have a white Italian wine of any variety that wasn't dreadful or suitable for dishwater!.
So, White zin sucks but people drink it because its gawdawful cheap and lacks anything truly horrible in it's flavor profile to send them running to yet another boring Riesling!. Red zin tends to be a beast that comes in all sorts of wonderful versions but people shy away because they see "Zin" and think "crap" or they're not really big red drinkers and think every Zin is a huge spicerack of flavors!. Personally, I would try a white zin that someone had taken some care to try and wake up with some time in oak or even a bit of odd flair!. Maybe it can be saved!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's definitely a wine, although it's mild body allows for those who not "real" wine drinkers to enjoy a glass of wine without worrying about matching it the food it's being cosnumed with!. It's a light rose' allwoing it to be consumes with red meat, and white enough to have with white meat!.
White Zinfandel is made from the Zinfandel wine grape, which would otherwise produce a bold and spicy red wine!. As such, it is not a grape variety but a method of processing Zinfandel grapes!.
Overall, not a bad day-to-day drinking wine!. But I prefer the richness of a merlot with my steaks!.
NEVER go to fine restauraunt and ask for a wine!. Let them recommend one that will compliment your meal!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

White Zinfandel is in fact a wine!. Just as with beer many people have chosen to be ignorant snobs and thus disparage certain beer or wine selections!.

White Zinfandel is wine!. It's an undistilled alcoholic beverage made from grapes!. Calling it a wine cooler is simply lying!. Being a wine, however, does not mean it is a good wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Red Zinfandel, same grapes as white, is a tremendous wine!.
There are some decent white zins, though most are low end!. There is a place for it, and yes it is wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, White Zin is wine!.
It's not that those of us who drink white zin are clueless, it's that we don't like the taste of wine that "real" wine drinkers like!. I have tried the "real" wine, I don't like it!. Just like I don't like beer!. I've never found any beer no matter how cheap or expensive that I like!. I have found that I like most blush wines, some Merlot, and some Rieslings!.
By your remarks it's not that you know better, it's that you have your nose out of joint!.
And by the way!.!.!.high school girls didn't drink blush wines!.!.!.we drank Annie Green Springs and Strawberry Hill!. ::::remembering the bottle passing around the circle in the church rectory:::::Www@FoodAQ@Com
