Good question!. An unfinished bottle of wine is pretty much an oxymoron at my household!. Between my wife and me, a bottle is pretty much toast through the course of a meal!. But when I was single, it was more of an issue!. What I did, I laid out in step by step suggestion here!. Take a look if you want!.

http://www!.ehow!.com/how_4415848_bottle-w!.!.!.

ehow!.com is a pretty cool community!. Its like yahoo answer in reverse, folks post step by step advice on just about anything!.

After vaccuum sealing the wine, if thats your preferred way, make sure you place in a dark location, or at least away from sunlight!. It should be in cool location!.

When I lived in Orlando, I did not have a wine frig, so I bought a couple of large coolers and kept my wines in there!. Worked okay!. Kept a refreezable ice bag to keep the interior cool!.

Walmart or Kmart sells collapsible coolers that you should be able to put that recorked bottle in!.

If you just cork it, the wine should last 3 or 4 days before it turns noticeably bad!. Vaccuum should add another 3 or so days to that!.

Hope this helps, good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

Red or white, a wine will deteriorate after it's opened, even if it's refrigerated!. Re-corking will help, but not very much!. Try a vacu-vin, available in any wine shop or most supermarkets!.

But if you're not picky, then a day-old bottle will certainly be drinkable even if it hasn't been in the fridge!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The vacuum pumps help somewhat, but you're on the clock and there's really not much you can do!. The wine will be fine for several days, even a week, but it's not going to be as good!. Even refrigerating will only add a few days!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you can re-vac it always do that, that will work the best for you!. Generally you shouldn't let the wine sit much more than a week before it will start to turn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buy a BOX of wine!. The wine thats in boxes!. it doesnt need to be refrigerated!. And it tastes the same!. thats wat they use in resteraunts!. Ive had a wine box for about 3 months!. still fresh :DWww@FoodAQ@Com
